The Fellowship in Pediatric Oncology is an advanced training program for physicians to gain a thorough understanding of childhood cancers, how they can be diagnosed and treated and long term management. Fundamentals and advanced topics in pediatric oncology are addressed – pediatric tumor biology, pediatric genetic predisposition, and diagnostic techniques, chemotherapy regimens, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, supportive care, and survivorship planning. Participants learn about the multidisciplinary approach to cancer care including pediatric oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists and the supportive care team. Additionally, the course covers psychosocial oncology, palliative care, ethics and law in oncology, precision medicine, paediatric cancer genomics, artificial intelligence in oncology, and cancer care in the global context. The fellowship is designed to build clinical knowledge, decision-making skills and appreciation of evidence-based pediatric oncology practices and patient- and family-centered care through structured academic learning, case-based discussions.
