Program overview

The Fellowship in Neuroendoscopy is an advanced academic training program for neurosurgeons and physicians wishing to gain more knowledge about minimally invasive neurosurgical procedures. This course covers fundamentals of neuroendoscopy, ventricular endoscopy, surgery of the skull base, treatment of hydrocephalus, paediatric neuroendoscopy, endoscope-assisted neurosurgical surgery, CSF disorders and surgical treatment of tumours. Participants learn about applied neuroanatomy, surgical planning, navigation during surgery, radiological correlation, management of complications and new technologies like robotics, artificial intelligence, and advanced imaging systems in neuroendoscopy. Topics covered also include multidisciplinary collaboration, revision surgery, ethical issues and new developments in minimally invasive neurosurgery. The fellowship will enhance clinical knowledge and decision-making processes pertinent to contemporary neurosurgical management by providing structured learning, surgical case discussions, educational materials, and exposure to current neuroendoscopic techniques.

  • Knowledge of the principles and management of revision surgery and failure of attempted neuroendoscopic procedures.

  • Knowledge of new technologies such as robotics, Artificial Intelligence, and advanced visualization.

  • Knowledge of ethics, medicolegal and patient safety issues relating to minimally invasive neurosurgery.
