FELLOWSHIP IN RHEUMATOLOGY

The MGA Medical Global Academy’s Fellowship in Rheumatology is a specialized, advanced training program for health-care practitioners interested in focusing on the diagnosis, treatment and management of autoimmune and musculoskeletal conditions. Participants gain comprehensive training in the recognition and management of diverse rheumatology conditions, such as inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue diseases, vasculitis, and metabolic bone diseases. This fellowship takes an interdisciplinary, evidence-driven approach to rheumatology, combining clinical assessment skills, immunological knowledge, diagnostic reasoning and management strategies. Participants work in both outpatient and inpatient settings, under the guidance of experienced mentors, managing actual patient cases. Training takes place in real clinical workflow settings, with an emphasis on building skills for applying knowledge of disease processes in the clinical setting. This approach doesn’t view rheumatology as a symptom-based discipline – it develops skills in refined diagnosis and structured management for the long term – vital skills for managing chronic, relapsing and multi-system disease.

• Expertise in immunology, inflammation and autoimmune disease

• Clinical and laboratory diagnosis and management of inflammatory arthritis – rheumatoid arthritis and spondyloarthropathies

• Treatment of connective tissue diseases including systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis and myositis

• Diagnosis and management of vasculitis, including clinical, laboratory and imaging approaches

• Treatment of crystal joint diseases (gout and CPPD) by joint aspiration

• Use of musculoskeletal ultrasound for dynamic imaging of joints and soft tissues

• Treating rheumatologic diseases in special populations, such as children and pregnant women
