The Fellowship in Social Preventive Medicine is a 12-month advanced training program that is intended for healthcare professionals who are interested in learning how to enhance their knowledge of public health, disease prevention and community health practices. The program focuses on epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, health systems, health policy, communicable and non-communicable diseases, maternal and child health, research methodology and health communication. Participants are provided with a structured framework of learning about preventive medicine and population health through a mix of online learning modules, faculty-led sessions, guided mentorship and exposure in the field. Social determinants of health, public health governance, emergency preparedness and program monitoring and evaluation are also covered in the curriculum. The fellowship is structured for working professionals, is flexible for learning, and will provide exposure to current public health concepts, national programs and global public health perspectives applicable to community and preventive healthcare practice.
